This one isn't really on the topic of pool, but it is something that you'll want to know if you're a Facebook user who happens to like PoolDawg.

Over the course of the past year, Facebook has been reducing the reach for business pages to their fans.  What this means is that even if you are a fan of PoolDawg, you might not be seeing all of our posts. For example, take a look at this post we made on November 10th:

As you can see, the post reached just over 13,000 people (about 35% of our total business page "likes").  That means that 65% of the people who "liked" our brand page never even knew that this was posted.  What I'm about to show you will help you make sure you never miss a PoolDawg post (you can use this solution for any Facebook Business Page as well).

Go to www.facebook.com/pooldawg.  If you "like" us, you should see a box in the PoolDawg header that says "Liked".  If not, it will say "Like" and you should totally click it (after all, if you're reading this, you probably like us enough to click that box, right?).

Now here's where it gets a little tricky.  That "Liked" button is actually a dropdown box.  When it drops down, you'll want to check the "Get Notifications" line.  That will make it far more likely that our posts will show up in your feed.

We're not a huge fan of making people jump through hoops in order to receive our messages and frankly, when Facebook made this change last year we were not very happy about it.  Our feeling has always been that if a customer says they want to hear from us, it should be easy for us to reach that customer.  The unfortunate reality though is that without Facebook filtering your newsfeed, the average Facebook user would get approximately 1,500 updates per day in their feed.  The "Get Notifications" tool allows you to bypass Facebook's filtering for that page.

So there it is.  A little tech support from your pals at PoolDawg.  If you're not a Facebook user, don't forget that we use several different social marketing channels, so there are lots of different ways to hear from us:

And for all you folks on the bleeding edge of social networking, we even created an account at Ello (that new, ad free social networking site).
