I'd suggest using a cheap cue to practice on as this can damage the ferrule very easily if you're not used to using the tool. It does an excellent job of cutting down any mushrooms but you need to familiar with it before working on any expensive shafts.

after having used the Porper Lil Shaver (does not work to well), i find that the Mushroom Grazer is just the tool i needed. Does an excellent job on the worst of mushroomed tips and is small enough to carry in your case. I recommend this product for all players to have on hand!
