      Great practice aid

    • I have both the original and this advanced set. The advanced set is a narrower, longer card that makes the pool table graphic more in correct proportion to a real table than the original set.

Some of these are really tough. I have not played the game even yet against another player. I use them to direct practice by shuffling the deck and drawing one card at a time and shooting that shot until I can shoot it clean (or with this advanced set, until I get frustrated and move on as some of these I cannot do yet).

I met Mike Massey at an event, he is a great guy and I really think he had some input in this set over the original set. Many of the shots on these cards feel like the stuff he talked about in his show.

Definitely start with the original set first and then move on to these. But you will make your practice time more interesting if you dedicate some sessions to working through the shots on these cards, and you will learn things you cannot learn by just playing against your self or just shooting random shots.

    • This product provides hours of fun, especially for large groups where other games are tough to play. In addition, the things I have learned from these cards have helped my game a great deal.

      User-friendly
I’m still a huge fan of the concept of a deck of training cards and how simple and fun this can be. These cards can be played as easily or as challenging as you want them to be. Just draw cards and try the shots, or follow the suggested game. Your choice.

      Comparison
This is the sequel to the original Ultimate Pool Challenge game which was also a great product.

      Level
Intermediate to Advanced, I wouldn’t recommend this product for complete beginners.

      Appearance
Again, I love the packaging and the concept of a deck of cards! Each individual card is beautifully printed with full bleed with very clear illustrations on the table layout. Players can keep these cards in their pool case and take them anywhere. My students love them and it’s always a great one to pull out at my monthly clinics when we don’t have a specific agenda.

      Price / Value
      Retail price: $24.95
      PoolDawg price: $19.95
Depending on what your objective is, it may seem a bit pricey. However, if you think of it as purchasing 52 drills or shots in the form of a small convenient deck of cards that can easily be carried around in your pool case, then it could be worth the 20 bucks.

      Gripes
My gripes are very minimal. Some of the illustrations and explanations are a bit vague. Perhaps many of the shots are left up to interpretation since this is the advanced version. Also, the point value for some of the shots seems a bit off. Many of the extremely difficult shots were worth fewer points than some of the easier ones. Maybe this was built on Mike Massey’s strengths and weaknesses?

      Ultimate Pool Challenge Cards

    • These cards are a great way to improve your game. They not only show you some shots to practice, they also show you where to strike the cue ball and how fast or slow to hit it. Their a nice size and easily readible. I practice each card until I make the shot 3 times in a row, then move on to the next card. I recommend these cards to anybody who wants to improve their game.
