The word Schon means "beautiful" in German, and after browsing their selection of cues it's pretty clear to see why they chose that name for their company. For over 30 years, Schon has been producing some of the finest craftsman-made cues in the world that are defined by their quality exotic woods and inlays.
This cue, the CX88, is a real showstopper. It has Birdseye maple forearm with a very unique set of long, slender ebony diamonds with a white micarta inlay. Every Schon cue comes with a 13mm shaft with a proprietary leather tip and a 5/16 x 14 piloted joint.
"Jeder Schon cue ist wunderschön und einzigartig, und die CX90 ist keine Ausnahme." That's German for "Every Schon cue is gorgeous and unique, and the CX90 is no exception." I can't actually speak German, so you don't need to get nitpicky; I just threw it into one of those translation programs and that's what it spit back out.
CX90 is made with Birdseye Maple with five Cocobolo points and Micarta diamond inlay with Maple and Ebony Veneers. Black and White Irish Linen wrap completes the cue.
Each Schon cue is handmade in Wisconsin using high quality exotic wood and inlay materials to create uniquely beautiful, traditionally designed cues. But Schon cues are more than just a pretty face. Each cue is perfectly balanced and constructed to give you a firm hit due to the stainless steel collar and short, pro-tapered shaft.
The CX89 is one of Schon's simpler designs. It features an ebony sleeve that leads up to six ebony points, each topped with a delicate white Micarta tear drop inlay. It's subtle, traditional, and perfectly crafted.
In business since 1981, Schon employs a small in-house staff of full-time craftsmen who give great attention to quality. And because the cues are produced in smaller quantities, designer Evan Clarke is able to personally finish and test each cue, ensuring it stands up to the German meaning behind the name Schon…beautiful.
The Jacoby D-5 features a birdseye maple forearm with 10 perfectly aligned and inlaid cocobolo points. The cocobolo runs all the way through the handle and into the butt sleeve. The top and base of the cue are finished with maple index rings. This cue also features David Jacoby's signature along with the date of completion (8-13) and includes a free set of joint protectors.
Everything about the design of the JOS50 pool cue is so uniquely Joss from a design perspective. You have some beautiful wood selections, perfect inlaid points and just the right amount of inlaid pearl diamonds to top it off.
