Hi. I'm professional pool player, Jennifer Barretta. I'm going to show you how to use some of the great tools that you see here on PoolDawg.com.

When it comes to maintaining your pool cue tip, the 3 most important things are scuffing, shaping, and picking. This tool has all 3 functions. The thing that I love about it is that it's solid metal, nothing needs to be replaced; it'll last you forever as long as you don't lose it.

The shallow side is the scuffer. If your tip is not holding chalk very well, you can ruff it up with the scuffer by just rolling the tip inside of it. If you're really having trouble with miscues, then all you have to do is screw apart the bowtie, and in the middle there is a porcupine. Just gently roll the tip along the needles, and it'll aerate the tip so that it'll really hold the chalk well. We don't recommend twisting it because it will reduce the life of your tip.

If you need to shape the tip, just use the shaper side. This is actually a nickel-sized radius, which is the shape that your tip will be will look like the side of a nickel. To use the shaper, just take the shaper-end of the bowtie, place it on the tip, and lightly turn the shaft inside the shaper. Once you get to the desired radius, you're all done.
