Category: About PoolDawg

With only 11 shopping days left before Christmas, we wanted to make sure everyone knows about our holiday shipping deadlines and cutoffs.  As you'll see from the map below, there's still time to get your order shipped with UPS ground, but this is the week to get 'r done before you have to start thinking about shelling out some extra dough for express shipping options.

Please keep in mind that all these dates are based on you getting your order in by 1PM MST (3PM EST).  That's when we get cut off for the day, so any orders that come in after 1PM don't go out until the following morning.  Here's how it all breaks down (feel free to call or email if you have questions):

The Official PoolDawg Holiday Shipping Deadline Map

Ok, now that we're done with the big, scary deadline stuff, let's talk gift ideas.  I've got about 3,000 different ideas for you, but in the interest of time, I'm just going to list my Top 5:

Pool Player Starter Bundles - Starting at $5.95

Do you know someone that you've always wanted to bring to league night, but haven't quite figured out how to suggest they start playing pool?  I know exactly where you're coming from.  That's why we've created these starter bundles.  You get an Action pool cue, a matching 1x2 hard case and a box of our PoolDawg Master Chalk all for just $54.95.

In the event that pink isn't the new black for you or the person getting this package, we also have this bundle in blue, purple, orange and red.

The Predator 314 2nd Generation Shaft - Starting at $215.90

I know what you're thinking.  "Seriously PoolDawg? You want me to give someone the shaft for Christmas?".  That's right.  And here's why.  Low deflection shafts have been shown to reduce cue ball deflection by as much as 30%, which means that it's easier to pot balls and control where you leave the cue ball.

I've personally found that the 314 shaft has helped me triple my long run, although I suppose going from a run of 1 to a run of 3 isn't all that impressive.  Still though, there's a good reason why the majority of touring pros use the 314 shaft.

Instroke Pool Cue Cases - Starting at $119.20

Don't let your favorite pool player walk around with a plain old pool cue case.  If you're looking for the best, look no further than Instroke.  Starting at under 120 bucks, Instroke makes some of the highest quality, sturdiest pool cue cases on the market.

Instroke cases are available in either genuine leather or a more economical synthetic and are offered in a variety of styles (the one pictured here is the Cowboy).  We carry these cases in 2 butt/2 shaft, 2 butt/4 shaft, 3 butt/5 shaft and 3 butt/7 shaft.

Aramith Pro Cup "Measles" Cue Ball - $29.10

When it comes to cue balls, there's really only one option - the ubiquitous "measles" ball.  If you've watched any pro tournaments in the past 5 years, chances are you've seen them using this ball.  This is the exact same ball that gets used in tournaments around the globe.

So what makes this so special?  Glad you asked!  It's all about quality and feedback.  With the red dots you can see spin, showing you exactly what happens when you put English on the ball.  Plus, because it's made by Aramith, you know it's gonna last and roll true.

Officially Licensed NFL and MLB Pool Cues - $79.95

With the playoffs just a few weeks away, pretty much everyone has football on the brain.  The Patriots are looking strong, the Steelers are making their annual push, the Saints are looking to repeat and a host of other teams are scrambling for playoff spots.

If any of what I just said makes sense to that pool player on your Christmas list, an officially licensed cue is just the ticket.  Made by the same guys who make the wildly popular Cuetec cues, each of these cues features the official team logo and colors and is built to last.  If, on the other hand, you're counting down to spring training, you might want to check out our MLB pool cues.
