Is it just me, or is pool starting to show up everywhere again?  In the past month, I've seen pool showing up on TV shows, in commercials and in movies, but the other day an old friend from LA mentioned to me that there's a giant pool ball art exhibit at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art for those not from SoCal).  LACMA was one of my favorite museums growing up (I still think of SoCal every time I see a David Hockney painting), so needless to say, I had to look it up. Yep, it's true!  I keep hearing over and over again how the only times you see pool featured on TV, it is closely followed by cops storming in on a bust.  Well, we at PoolDawg feel that's just downright inaccurate.  There are tons of examples of pool being shown in a positive light.  Case in point - Wonderful Pistachios.   Funny guy, funny ad, but I wouldn't recommend trying to chalk your cue with a pistachio. If you do, you're gonna have a bad time.

Now let me preface this post by saying that there's a huge West Coast bias here at PoolDawg since I grew up in SoCal with the Bruins and Trojans (and I went to school at CU Boulder), so writing nice things about the ACC always hurts a bit (although not nearly as much as when I have to say nice things about the SEC).  When I caught this video of the Clemson football team playing pool with BCA and WPBA Hall of Famer Loree Jon Hasson though, well lets just say I have a new found affection…
